Youth Waterfowl Day

Morgan Braden and Nico Materka answered an early wake up call and withstood bitterly and potentially record breaking temperatures to travel to Monquin Outfitters about an hour and a half south of us to get some waterfowl action on the last day of the season. Morgan sent us a text saying, "I got a big duck!" As I looked at the picture  I realized she was joking. Her "duck" was HUGE even for a Canada goose!
Nico got into some ducky action and took a wood duck. 
Congrats to our two members for getting in on some waterfowl action.

Since it was a combo Youth and Veteran's Waterfowl Day I gave some field hunting for geese a try later that afternoon but the only geese came in minutes after legal shooting. Of course they flew low and slow right over me when I could not shoot! That is hunting for you!
